Cat Causing Trouble

Hubby, Kiddo, and I are sitting together eating supper. There is a nice breeze coming in through the patio door. Kiddo is explaining how he and a friend made paint out of chalk at camp. All is well.

Then I hear a scratching noise. At first, I assume the cat is at his scratching post. But it doesn’t sound quite right. The scratching is combined with a scraping sound. When I think I can also hear chewing, I finally get up to investigate.

I find this face of innocence:

I swear, Mom, the basket jumped out all by itself. I have no idea how that chewed paper happened.
